Welcome to the Department of Medicine and Geriatrics in Värnamo! We now have an opportunity for you to complete your Specialist Training (ST) in Internal Medicine with us.

The Role of the ST Doctor

You will work as an ST doctor across all our care units as well as in the Emergency Department. This will provide you with broad and stimulating experience. On-call duties as a primary on-call doctor are included.

Currently, 11 ST doctors, 4 specialists nearing completion, and 21 specialist physicians work here together with the department's total of approximately 220 employees. Together with this wonderful team, you will make a difference!

The position is a permanent full-time employment with a start date to be agreed upon.

Our three care units, along with outpatient clinics, day care, and dialysis, handle everything from stroke care to endocrinology, gastroenterology, geriatrics, hematology, cardiology, pulmonology, neurology, and nephrology – a broad spectrum of specialties that makes every day both developing and rewarding. Your Profile

We are looking for someone ready to start their ST, i.e., either at the end of your General Practitioner Training (AT) or at the end of your Basic Training (BT). Previous experience working in a medical department is desirable, but above all, we look for a solid interest in Internal Medicine and that you value teamwork highly.

Our Offer to You

As an ST doctor, we offer you a broad education in Internal Medicine, which includes individual supervision and knowledge transfer as a natural part of the work. You participate and have an active role in the development of our treatment methods and in our quality work.

Training is planned together with supervisors, and parts may be placed at a university hospital, but the main placement is at Värnamo Hospital. Region Jönköping County is responsible for providing courses within all A and B sub-goals according to the ST-ab concept. Supervisor training for both supervisors and ST doctors is included in the course. During ST-ab, there are also opportunities to conduct your own quality and development work.
